At Covertite, we know that you are concerned about how long your roof will last. After all, it's a big investment! Many roofers will offer lavish warranties in order to lure in prospective clients. Unfortunately, many of these promises are not worth the paper they are written on. Even if the company you hire is still in existence when you have a problem (many roofing companies do not last), often times their warranties leave them with numerous loop-holes for getting out of their obligation. You get stuck with a costly repair and no way of collecting on their warranty.

There are two types of roofing warranty, and both are necessary to provide you with comprehensive warranty coverage.

Our Manufacturer’s Warranty

WARNING!! MOST MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTIES ARE MORE TROUBLE THAN THEY ARE WORTH IF YOU EVER NEED TO MAKE A CLAIM AGAINST ONE!

Every shingle manufacturer provides a warranty against manufacturing defects of their product. These warranties generally range in length from 20 years to 50 years. It is important to know however what these warranties do and do not cover. Generally speaking, manufacturer’s warranties are PRO-RATED and only cover a portion of the purchase price of defective shingles. They do not cover any shingles not affected. They usually do not cover any labour involved in the necessary repairs. They provide NO coverage if it is deemed that there were any issues with the installation of the shingles or if there are problems with your roof surface or attic ventilation. The warranty is rarely transferable. In the end, even if the customer is successful in making a claim, the payout is far less than what is required to make the necessary repairs.

Because of our dedication to excellence in roofing quality, Covertite has been selected by GAF (North America’s largest manufacturer of shingles) and accredited as a Certified Weather Stopper Roofing Contractor. This rarely awarded status means that Covertite is able to offer a substantially upgraded warranty. All GAF architectural shingles that we install come with a LIFETIME warranty that is NON-PRORATED for the first 50 years. This warranty is TRANSFERABLE, and covers 100% of materials, labour, and the tear-off of existing shingles. There isn’t a better manufacturer’s warranty in the business, and all because of our elite status with GAF!

Our Covertite Warranty

In addition to the Manufacturer’s Warranty, Covertite Residential Construction offers you a 5-year WORKMANSHIP warranty that is far superior to others in the residential roofing industry. This warranty guarantees you that our INSTALLATION is free from defect (something that is not covered by manufacturer’s warranties). This means that if there are any problems with the installation of your roof, we will fix it. Free.

While it is very unlikely that you will ever have to take us up on our warranty, it is reassuring to know that if the need ever does arrive, you won’t have to hunt for us or hound us to come back. We’ve been satisfying our customers since 1951 and we’re committed to continuing in that tradition.
